The new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line has been launched for Indian consumers for the very first time and is the company’s third-generation SUV. The Volkswagen SUV topped its range in India coming as a Fully Built Unit (CBU) and the striking silhouette, performance and refined features further positions the brand as a front-runner in the industry.
Price and Availability
From April 23, 2025, first deliveries of the new model will be available. Volkswagen has set the introductory suggested price at ₹48.99 lakh ex-showroom. From the automaker’s prerogative, this price is sure to fluctuate down the line.
Platform, Dimensions, and Design
The SUV sits on the MQB EVO platform retrofitted to the model optimising steering response while enhancing the ride quality. It also has an improved longitudinal dimension of 4539 mm, width of 1859 mm, height of 1656 mm, and sweeping wheelbase of 2680 mm.
In comparison to the previous generation, the breadth of the SUV has also been enhanced enabling the car to sport a smooth and swept head craftsmanship. The sporty look is supplemented by R-Line providing 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels, header and tail LED lamps, and R-Line branding.
Interior and Features
The R-Line trim offers a more advanced and refined touch, and its insides. Key features include:
- Branded R-Line logos on dashboard and seats
- Infotainment system of 15 inches using a touchscreen
- The Head-Up Display and Digital Cockpit (HUD)
- Seated front passengers receive massage and advanced lumbar preference reclining.
- Climate controls set to 3 zones.
- Lighting set to 30 colours for different moods.
- Panoramic sunroof.
Performance and Safety
A 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine with 204 PS and 320 Nm torque takes care of the power. It has a 7-speed DSG transmission and uses Volkswagen’s 4MOTION AWD system.
